Amanda and Kevin’s fall wedding at Rosewood Farm was relaxed, heartfelt, and full of personality. Some weddings are grand and elaborate, but others stand out because of the people at the center of the day. This wedding day truly touched my heart!
Amanda is the occupational therapist at my sons’ school, and Kevin is a high school chemistry teacher. From the moment I arrived on their wedding day, it was clear how genuine their love is. Their wedding reflected exactly who they are: Thoughtful, joyful, and surrounded by people who adore them.
Let me count the things I loved about Amanda and Kevin’s wedding day…
Amanda wore a simple and elegant gown that paired beautifully with the delicate details of her veil. The soft lace of the veil added just the right amount of romance, especially during their sunset portraits. Watching it catch the evening light was such a dream to photograph!
Kevin’s private vows were written on notebook paper, complete with the torn fringe still attached. As a high school teacher, it felt perfectly fitting and so personal.
Dinner was served by Wooden Paddle, and instead of cutting a wedding cake, Amanda and Kevin celebrated with a pizza cutting. Are you kidding me?! IN LOVE. Wooden Paddle brought their own setup, including a tent and a wood fired pizza oven. They set up on the lawn, and we watched them toss fresh pizza dough while photographing wedding party portraits nearby. The salad was delicious, the pizzas were incredible, and their team was so kind to the vendor team. They treated us just like guests. This was easily my favorite vendor meal of the season!
Friends traveled from all over the country to celebrate with them. Amanda grew up as a military kid, and seeing those lifelong friendships gathered together for this moment was incredibly meaningful.
One unexpected highlight of the day was a duo of geese that seemed determined to be part of the celebration. They honked their happiness throughout the celebration and had everyone laughing.
During cocktail hour, live music by Paul Moeller filled the patio. Amanda and Kevin shared the first of their two first dances with that live music, which made the moment feel extra special. Later in the evening, just before the dance floor officially opened, they shared their traditional first dance.
And then there was the sunset… It was truly one of the most beautiful sunsets of the season. The light wrapped around Amanda and Kevin during their outdoor portraits and created the most dreamy glow. As evening settled in, the property lit up with warm edison lights and the celebration continued under the glow of the fall evening. It was their day in every sense of the word. Relaxed, joyful, and perfectly suited to two incredible people!
Amanda and Kevin’s wedding was a reminder that the most meaningful celebrations are the ones that feel completely authentic to the couple. I feel so grateful I was able to document it.
