Summer Museum Campus Engagement Photos

Museum Campus is hands down one of my favorite places to photograph in Chicago, and Thalia and Tony’s summer engagement session is a perfect example of why. The area offers so much variety in such a short walk. Beautiful architecture, lush green space, and stunning skyline views all come together in one iconic location!

One of the things I love most about photographing at Museum Campus in Chicago is how easy it is to create a well rounded gallery. We can capture classic portraits where couples are looking at the camera, along with walking, standing, sitting, and snuggling moments that feel relaxed and natural. I always aim to mix wide, epic images that tell the story of the city with close up portraits that feel warm, personal, and connected.

I originally connected with Thalia when she came across my work through their wedding venue, The Redfield Estate. When she reached out, I was so excited… And even more honored when they asked me to photograph their wedding there! Leading up to their Chicago engagement photos, it felt important to choose an location that reflected their love for Chicago.

Both Thalia and Tony are incredibly sweet and laid back. They knew they wanted engagement photos in the city, but they were not set on a specific location. When I suggested Museum Campus for the variety and ease it offers, they were immediately on board. We were so excited to photograph their engagement session at the Field Museum and near Ader Planetarium!

Their schedules were full, so we planned their engagement session about eight weeks before their wedding. Even with a tighter timeline, everything came together perfectly! It was a beautiful summer evening with comfortable temperatures and truly incredible sunset views over the skyline.

We wrapped up the session near the Adler Planetarium, where the city skyline really shines. The light, the setting, and the calm energy of the evening made this session feel effortless and fun!
