Rachel and John’s Chicago skyline portrait session was such a joy to photograph. While their wedding took place in the suburbs near John’s childhood home in Hinsdale, they wanted to celebrate their first home together in the city. The perfect solution? A first look and an evening of portraits in Chicago two days before their wedding. A photographer’s dream!
Iconic skyline shots were at the top of their list, so we made our way to Museum Campus for some of my favorite skyline views in the city. The Field Museum and Adler Planetarium truly provided the perfect backdrop. With just a short walk, we captured breathtaking city views alongside the beautiful architecture of the Field Museum. Rachel and John are just a dream to photograph together! Every image showcases their connection, their joy, and the gorgeous Chicago backdrop.
A special thank you to the sweet girl we met near the lake by Adler Planetarium! She helped with Rachel’s veil during a few images, and it was incredible. Your timing and veil toss were perfect (and appreciated!), and you made the session even more memorable!
The evening was filled with just the right amount of breeze, golden-hour light, and city magic. Rachel and John’s portraits are a beautiful reminder that celebrating love in meaningful locations isn’t limited to your wedding day.
I loved capturing this Chicago-inspired session and hope it inspires other couples to explore the city for portraits!
