Summer Chicago Botanic Garden Wedding

The Chicago Botanic Garden is one of my favorite places in all of Chicagoland, and it’s easy to see why.

No matter the season, it’s breathtaking, but late summer might just be the most magical time of all! The gardens are bursting with color, the light is golden, and the blooms are at their fullest. It’s the perfect setting for romantic wedding portraits, and Tuya & Ari’s elegant wedding day was no exception.

From the moment you step through the visitor’s center and into the gardens, it’s like walking into a storybook. For couples who love classic elegance and natural beauty, it doesn’t get better than this.

Tuya & Ari planned their wedding day with timeless style in mind. The soft neutral palette, champagne bridesmaid dresses and white florals perfectly complemented the lush, colorful surroundings of the garden. Every detail was thoughtful and refined, and their portraits feel just as graceful and effortless as they are.

We explored some of my favorite areas of the garden, but the English Walled Garden always takes the top spot on my list. It’s one of the most beautiful locations in Chicagoland for portraits. It also happens to be an incredible setting for a wedding ceremony or cocktail hour. If you’re dreaming of a garden wedding that feels both intimate and unforgettable, this space should be on your radar.

Another favorite? The open-air McGinley Pavilion. It’s the perfect spot for hosting dinner and then dancing the night away under the stars, with the garden surrounding you. I’m dreaming of the day I get to photograph a full wedding celebration there!
