High School Senior Portraits in Downtown Aurora

Downtown Aurora is another one of my favorite locations for senior portrait sessions in the west suburbs! It offers such an amazing variety of looks in a short walking distance, which makes it perfect for creating a senior gallery that feels unique, stylish, and full of personality.

For Kayla’s senior session, we explored some of my favorite corners of downtown Aurora and captured a mix of contemporary, edgy scenes alongside softer, more feminine backdrops. One of the things I love most about this area is the balance between historic charm and modern textures. There are beautiful architectural details, interesting pathways, colorful murals, and plenty of steps, benches, and walkways that naturally create variety in posing. Truly a photographer’s dream!

In late summer, downtown Aurora becomes even more beautiful thanks to the seasonal flowers planted throughout the city. The florals add such a pretty contrast to the urban environment and photograph beautifully during golden hour.

Sessions like Kayla’s are a great example of why I often recommend urban locations for senior portraits. In just one evening, we can create a gallery that feels polished, relaxed, fun, and completely personalized to you!

I am now accepting reservations for the Class of 2027! I typically begin photographing seniors in late July or early August, and weather permitting, sessions continue through early to mid November.

If you’d like to wear a cute dress, short sleeves, or shorts, I recommend that we schedule your session for August or September. October may be warm enough, but no guarantees with this Midwest weather!
