Fall Senior Photos at Fabyan Forest Preserve in Geneva

If you’re searching for the perfect location for senior photos in the Geneva area, Fabyan Forest Preserve is always near the top of my list! Nestled along the west side of the Fox River, this beautiful preserve offers so much variety without ever feeling crowded. From open green spaces to towering trees, charming pathways, and riverside views, it’s one of those locations that photographs beautifully in every season.

One of my favorite things about Fabyan Forest Preserve is that so many people don’t realize everything that’s tucked inside. The entrance almost looks like you’re heading toward a boat launch, but once you drive in, you’ll discover some of the preserve’s most iconic features… Including the gorgeous garden arch and historic iron gate that make such timeless backdrops for portraits.

Why I Love Fabyan Forest Preserve for Senior Portraits

For Graycin’s early fall senior session, we explored some of my favorite spots throughout the preserve, taking advantage of the warm light that makes this time of year so special. If you’re willing to wander a bit, you can even cross the footbridge to the east side of the river, where an inlet surrounded by tall grasses creates the most incredible scenery as the sun begins to set. That golden light reflecting across the water is hard to beat and always adds such a beautiful, natural feel to senior portraits.

Many people also know Fabyan Forest Preserve for its stunning Japanese Garden, which is absolutely worth visiting. While photography permits are required for that specific spot, I actually love photographing throughout the general forest preserve even more! The variety of scenery, beautiful natural light, and relaxed atmosphere make it one of my favorite locations for creating a senior gallery that feels both timeless and so personal.

Graycin absolutely rocked his session! The early fall colors paired perfectly with the preserve’s natural beauty. It’s easy to see why this location continues to be one of my favorites for Chicagoland and Geneva area senior photos.
